What are the Hornet's New Engine Options?
Part of what makes the 2023 Dodge Hornet such an exciting addition to the Dodge family is its new and improved features that drivers may not expect! One new element is the Hornet's new powertrain offerings, never before seen on a Dodge vehicle. There are two main camps when it comes to the Hornet's design, and those are the gas-powered version, and the plug-in hybrid. The gas trim levels, the GT and GT Plus, feature a new 2.0-liter Hurricane-4 engine, rated at 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine pairs with a 9-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive with torque vectoring. On the other hand, the plug-in hybrid models are known as the R/T and R/T Plus. These trim levels are powered by a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a 15.5-kWh battery. The R/T can deliver 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and up to 30 miles of all-electric range!
What Performance Features does the Hornet Offer?
Although certain features of the Hornet may be all-new, you can still find lots of familiar features, especially when it comes to performance! For example, the Hornet ensures a smooth and controlled drive, thanks to an array of suspension options including Macpherson fully-independent suspension, Chapman rear suspension, and more. You can also enjoy high-performance stopping power thanks to available Brembo four-piston front brakes. With the help of these brakes and their signature red calipers, you can come to a full stop from 62 miles per hour while covering just 138 feet. When you opt for the hybrid R/T models, you'll also be treated to the new PowerShot button, which can deliver an additional burst of power with the press of a button, allowing you to access up to 25 horsepower in seconds.

The Dodge Hornet is presenting signature Dodge style in a whole new way. It features a compact-utility vehicle silhouette, another first for the brand, with the signature Dodge emblem nestled on the front end between two LED headlights. Enjoy features like 20-inch wheels, full LED exterior lighting, and a dual-pane sunroof fr a bold exterior appearance.
